I just paid my Bank of America credit card balance (formerly MBNA), and I just need to say that we won't be using that card again or anything with B of A. They decided to charge me a LATE fee for paying on time. Yup! What am I missing here? It's been hard adding a person to our household, halving my salary and adding a mortgage, but we do it. We don't even have cable or satellite TV (yes, I still go to Starbucks for those of you counting our dimes, but not everyday). Meaning, we still have some perks, but we really try to watch our pennies. We pay a lot for gas, a lot for groceries and now late fees for paying on time?! Noah and I don't even get out of the house much anymore because I hate seeing how much I owe at the gas pump. We even drive economical cars - 30 plus miles a gallon.
I called B of A, and they said that even though I might have paid on time, if the payment doesn't get to them by 3 p.m. (I paid through our bank, who verified it was paid on time), it's late. I told B of A, that's not my problem. That's the bank's problem and yours. After a bit of a rant, they said they would reverse the charges. Oh, and to note, it was half of a regular late fee charge. Isn't late, late? I'm at a loss. What kind of mickey mouse organization is this?
